India is a vast expanse of populace and a fast developing country, where the needs of the youth to access basic amenities of life are beyond the scope of one organization to provide. Every helping hand is required to join in to form a formidable force where Indians can fully develop their potential and excel in the world domain. Every child, irrespective of caste, creed and economic background has the right to complete his/her basic education so as to move forward in life, expand his intellectual thinking and grow to his full capacity in this highly competitive world.

To achieve this objective, to do their bit, to give back to the land that made them who they are, and to help India grow-The Yeruva family fervently strived to make a difference and finally witnessed their vision coming true!

Mr. Yeruva Koti Reddy, hailed from Pedapalakalur village, Guntur District, AP, India. A strong supporter of educational rights, Mr. Yeruva Koti Reddy always encouraged his children to study to the best possible extent despite facing a dearth of resources at his end. A humble man, with strong and firm values, Mr. Yeruva Koti Reddy had left behind a dream, a dream that is being fulfilled today by his son Mr.Sairam Yeruva. Mr. Sairam Yeruva who shares his father’s values has brought forward his father’s dream to support education both in India and the USA. He has contributed a lot to many educational institutes in the USA.

In India Mr. Sairam realized that though there are many schools that provide primary education and most of the economically backward families have access to these, but there lack institutions that provide secondary education in villages and most do not enroll their children in them due to financial constraints. Hence, to remove this hurdle Mr. Sairam Yeruva established a school in his village Pedapalakalur, which has the facility to conduct classes for 8th, 9th and 10th Standard Students. For the last 30-40 years, there was no school after the 7th grade in Pedapalakalur . Mr.Sairam Yeruva took the initiative in 1998 to raise funds and build the school. After 3 years of sincere hardwork by Mr. Sairam Yeruva, the villager’s dreams have come true in 2001 and students in Pedapalakalur are now fortunate enough to study in their village with all the latest teaching aids and technology including Computers. This school has been serving more than 300 kids for nearly a decade. These students would have otherwise stopped their education after the 7th grade, as there was no high school for them earlier.

The Yeruva Family now in 2012 , has proudly launched the YKR scholarship programme for students in classes 6th-10th. The YKR Scholarship is founded by Mr.Sairam Yeruva in memory of his father Mr.Yeruva Koti Reddy.
It was noticed that school dropout rates were on the rise for low income families and that many talented and bright students would have to sacrifice their education due to monetary backwardness. Hence, this time to help encourage meritorious students, facing financial challenges, The YKR Scholarship will be launched on March 6th, 2012 in memory of Sri Mr.Yeruva Koti Reddy, in Pedapalakaluru, Guntur District , to provide monetary help and give equal opportunities to all for completing their education and ensuring that valuable talent is not wasted due to lack of monetary resources. The Yeruva Family intends to carry this scholarship for many many more years to come. We are also planning to expand to more schools and Senior Secondary students in later years.

The scheme of this scholarship is to reward and support the bright youth providing them an opportunity to shine in this world. The students will be chosen based on their educational ranks in class, the top 5 ranks will be considered. After this, the selected candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of intensity of financial backwardness. Every aspect will be thoroughly scrutinized and the chosen candidates will be put through a complete check regarding the certificates, marks, loans taken, monetary help already given etc. The application forms have to be completely and honestly filled and submitted by the concerned person.
The value of education cannot be undermined in any aspect of life. Mr.Sairam Yeruva stands an exemplary example to one and all, to prove to us how the beginning seeds of education can lead you to become immensely successful in making your family and mother land proud.
