Mission Statement:
NextGen English is a student-led initiative under YKR Scholarships that provides free, online English speaking and grammar lessons to middle and high schools in rural South India. Our goal is to build confidence, communication skills, and access to global opportunities.
Intro:
Hi! I’m Ramani Yeruva, a high school student from Cary, North Carolina, and the founder of YKR NextGen English. As a classical Bharatanatyam dancer, runner, and someone who loves learning and connecting with others, I started this program to help students in rural South India gain confidence in English through fun, interactive lessons. I teach grammar and speaking skills using Zoom and Google Classroom, with a focus on real-life communication. Through this initiative, I hope to create a space where students feel supported, empowered, and excited to grow.
Program details:
NextGen English currently serves middle and high school students from rural communities in Andhra Pradesh, India. Our program focuses on improving conversational English, vocabulary, and confidence in speaking. Classes are held weekly over Zoom, and students also receive assignments through Google Classroom. The program is designed to be flexible, and student-centered — with every lesson focused on real-world communication and growth.
